Lipped Clamshell Portfolio Workshop
Instructor: Kevin Martini-Fuller
Saturday, November 18th
10 am - 5 pm
Photographers are notorious for creating endless images. Now is a good time to organize them into a professional presentation.
To present images from various projects this is an ideal and professional method of presentation. The images can be presented as a theme, subject, or timeline. Archival lipped clamshell portfolios are the standard presentation for photographs at the library of congress.
Participants will receive instruction and all materials to make a custom, archival, [8”x10”x1.5”] or [8.5”x11”x1.5”] Lipped Clamshell portfolio with your choice of exterior color;
Grey / Hunter Green / Tan / Brown / Burgundy / Black
In this workshop, participants will learn the steps to create their own custom Archival Lipped Clamshell Portfolio. We will begin with a discussion of all the steps involved from design to completion. The portfolios will be constructed of book-board, covered with paper-backed book cloth and lined with artist paper. Various alternative materials will be discussed as we proceed through the workshop. Lipped clamshell portfolios have multiple uses in the world of book arts, providing protection, storage, as well as an object of beauty in and of themselves. A clamshell portfolio is also a handsome and elegant way to store family heirlooms, such as a family bible, personal documents, memorable correspondence, etc.
