Chris McCaw’s artistic practice is firmly rooted in the history of photography, recalling the experimental work of pioneer Henry Fox Talbot albeit combined with the aesthetic of Lucio Fontana’s slash-and-burn paintings. Harnessing the tension of simultaneous creation and destruction, Chris’s images are simultaneously highly-crafted and dependent on influences beyond his control, specifically the earth’s rotation around the sun. Tonight, Chris will share his work with us, and a Q&A will follow the presentation.
