Light talk with Rachel Portesi

Monday August 22nd, 2022

7:00pm to 8:30pm*

REGISTER (Zoom)

Influenced by expressions of mourning in the Victorian era, Rachel Portesi addresses concepts such as fertility, sexuality, creativity, nurturing, harmony and discord in her wet plate series Hair Portraits. Her images are a testament to change and a record of metamorphosis from a past fractured self to an integrated, self-realized woman.

The series has been exhibited at the Brattleboro Museum and the Newport Art Museum and will grace the walls of the Griffin Museum in September.

A Q&A will follow the presentation.
